Law School Academics

For the futures we’ll create.

Your legal future starts in the classroom. But it doesn’t end there. It has to expand beyond those walls. Beyond books and theory. At Creighton School of Law, we don’t just load your mind with facts and statistics. We give you practical experience so that you graduate, ready and able, to take off on the career you’ve been dreaming about for years. And you can get there at your own pace, whether in the Accelerated J.D. Program in two years, the traditional JD Program in three years, or the Part-time Program over several years.

Your Creighton Classroom

Most of your classes at Creighton School of Law are small. In fact most of your courses will have fewer than 25 students—especially in your second and third years. That means your professors and classmates aren’t strangers. Interaction is regular. Activities are intense. And the connections that start here can lead to incredible opportunities for years to come.

Gaining Experience

So how do you gain that practical experience? Through externships. That’s 150 hours in a legal learning environment you choose from a list of many opportunities. You might be a judicial extern—or work for a government agency or nonprofit hospital. You’ll gain experience, too, by spending a semester in our legal clinics, representing actual clients and making court appearances. You can get involved in moot court or join one of our trial teams and compete. The possibilities are wide open. The experience, astounding.
