Kelly Steenbock graduated from the Creighton University School of Law in 1998. Immediately upon entrance to the Nebraska Bar Association, Kelly began her work as a trial attorney for the Douglas County Public Defender. During her 17 years there, Kelly defended thousands of criminal cases that ranged from simple misdemeanors all the way up to capital murder. Kelly has argued appellate cases in the Nebraska Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Nebraska, and the Eight Circuit Court of Appeals. In 2015, Ms. Steenbock joined the Federal Public Defender’s Office as a trial attorney where she defends indigent clients accused of federal law violations, including capital murder. She also is a member of the NCDAA.
