Martha received her Bachelor of Arts in theology from Creighton in 1994 and her Juris Doctorate from Creighton in 2011. Upon completing undergraduate studies, she taught high school theology for five years, followed by several years of  housing advocacy work on behalf of low-income and marginalized communities in the Omaha metropolitan area. She joined the Law School’s Milton R. Abrahams Legal Clinic in 2011 as staff attorney and director of the domestic violence project, focusing on the  comprehensive representation of survivors of domestic violence. Martha worked in the clinic until accepting the director of alumni position in September of 2016.
