Law Student Gives Back to Creighton
Law Student Gives Back to Creighton

School of Law student Matthew Zadorozny owns so many Creighton shirts and items that he has lost count. He drinks coffee every day from his Creighton travel mug, and he wears a Creighton cap with pride whenever he visits his home in Illinois. He is a devoted Bluejay fan and goes to most men’s basketball games—even while participating in Creighton’s 3-3 program.

“I think I am prouder than most of being a student at Creighton, and this really saying something, because the vast majority of our students are super proud,” said Zadorozny, who is earning an undergraduate degree from Heider College of Business and a law degree in six years instead of seven through 3-3. “I truly love this school.”

Zadorozny’s affection for Creighton even led him to work as a student development officer for the Creighton Phonathon. Through the program, current students reach out to alumni, parents, and friends to share their stories about Creighton and offer opportunities for them to stay connected to campus.

Funds raised during the calls can be designated to a variety of areas, including scholarships. Scholarships are core to Creighton’s ability to provide deserving students like Zadorozny with a service-focused, academically rigorous, transformative education rooted in the Jesuit tradition. In fact, 98 percent of Creighton students receive some form of financial aid or scholarships.

As a student development officer, Zadorozny has seen firsthand how much donor support means to students. He has already made gifts to Creighton as a student and plans to continue giving back after he graduates.

“Every gift counts and has an impact beyond what we can see,” Zadorozny said. “Donations allow students to pursue their dreams and make a positive impact here on campus, in Omaha, and across the world.”

Alumni can make a gift to the School of Law through Phonathon, online via the School of Law general scholarship fund page, or by contacting Chris Bauer, Senior Director of Development for the School of Law, at chrisbauer [at] creighton [dot] edu or 402.280.3884.
