Creighton University School of Law has a new associate dean for student affairs and administration. Rick McFayden, JD’77, returns to his alma mater with more than 35 years of experience in senior academic administrative and student-centered management positions.
McFayden’s previous higher education roles have been at Iowa Western Community College, as well as Buena Vista and Bellevue universities. At all three institutions, he has managed staff, developed programs and created student-centered environments. At the School of Law, McFayden will oversee the assistant dean of career development, the assistant dean of admissions and the interim assistant dean of student engagement .
“There is something very special about Creighton law school and the opportunity to return the favor of my education was too great to pass up,” McFayden said. “Being invited to rejoin the school which provided me a lifetime of soft landings is a privilege. My mission is to help our students discover all the ways Creighton can be a lifetime appreciation.”
